How to Make Raspberry Lemonade Cubes
Instead of store-bought pink lemonade, we're going to make these flavored ice cubes using ingredients we have at home to avoid artificial sweeteners and added sugars.
First, you'll need ice cube trays. We like the XL square ones, but you can use standard ones, round ones, or even tiny tupperware.
Next you'll need to calculate the liquid measurements.
Fill a liquid measure with water and fill up your ice cube trays to understand how much raspberry lemonade you need.
Then follow this ratio —  5 oz. lemon juice: 1 oz. Sugar-free Raspberry Sinless Syrup.
Decorative Elements for Raspberry Lemonade Cubes
Making flavored raspberry lemonade cubes is a great way to keep drinks from getting watered down as ice melts. You can add them to pitchers or direct to glasses depending on how many you make and how big you make them
For our money, however, it's the garnishes that have the biggest impact.
For Raspberry Lemonade Cubes, adding a raspberry or two is a no-brainer. They're cute and colorful and textured. Since raspberries last about 5 minutes before turning overripe, freezing them is a genius way to preserve their bright color & flavor.
We also love a lemon curl. If you don't have a channel knife, you can easily use a vegetable peeler to create something similar. For citrus peels, the best advice is to take as little pith (the white stuff) as possible, because it can be quite bitter.
Lemon peel (the yellow stuff) is plump with fragrant, concentrated fruit oils and makes quite an impact on flavor. That's why so many recipes call for lemon zest (aka finely shaven lemon peel.)Â
We used a vegetable peeler that actually cuts the peel into ribbons which is perfect for these Raspberry Lemonade Cubes.
Â
Last, but not least, add a mint leaf or two to each cube.
Pop your trays in the freezer and let the magic happen over a few hours.Â
