Sinless Vodka Gimlet Recipe

This simple (syrup) cocktail was in vogue during the 50s but just as delightful today.

If you watched Mad Men, you probably saw Betty Draper down a few Gimlets. Made traditionally with Gin, the Gimlet has a refined reputation. It is slightly sweet and often served in an elegant glass adding to its appeal.

We decided to give this classic cocktail a sugar free twist and it is has become the keto cocktail of our dreams. Give it a try this Summer and you'll see what we mean.

The Vodka Gimlet is the Perfect Summer Cocktail

With just three ingredients, a Gimlet scores points for being a quick and easy cocktail. It also scales well for a crowd. And let's face it... Summer cocktails are best enjoyed with friends, are they not?

But don't let the simplicity fool you — the Gimlet packs a punch. 

To start, we recommend using a quality vodka (like Tito's Handmade Vodka). 

Next, you'll want plenty of fresh limes for juicing. Fresh lime is just quintessentially Summer, which is another reason this low sugar cocktail is so perfect for the heat.

To get the most juice from each fruit, roll it under your palm on a hard surface a few times. Slice the lime in half and squeeze into your cocktail tumbler or mixing pitcher until all the juice is extracted. We love a handheld compression juicer because they're fast and efficient. 

Last, but certainly not least is the ingredient that makes it "sinless" — Miss Mary's Sugar Free Sinless Simple Syrup.

This neutral-flavored syrup is naturally sweetened with stevia leaf extract and monk fruit for a zero calorie, zero sugar, zero carb sweetness that balances out the tartness of the lime perfectly.

Serving the Vodka Gimlet

The Gimlet is served neat (no ice), so you'll want to combine ingredients in a tumbler/shaker with ice. If you have cordial glasses or even dainty champagne coupes, those make a fun way to serve the Gimlet.

Add all the ingredients to a cocktail tumbler along with ice. Shake well, then strain into your cocktail glasses.

Finally, garnish with a lime wedge or wheel.
