Packed with bananas, strawberries, chia seeds, peanut butter, coconut flakes, almond slivers, and sweetened by a drizzle of Salted Dark Chocolate Sugar Free Sinless Syrups, this bowl is the ultimate blend of delish and nutrish.

The Power of Chia Seeds: Tiny Seeds, Big Benefits

Let's start with the unsung hero of this smoothie bowl – chia seeds. These little guys are a superhero in the seed world, packing a powerful punch of nutrients that can do wonders for your well-being.

DIGESTIVE DYNAMO

Chia seeds are rich in soluble fiber, the kind that loves to absorb water and create a gel-like consistency. This gel doesn't just make this smoothie consistency richer, it also helps keep your digestive system running on time and efficiently. Healthy guts are happy guts!

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT WONDER

Don't let their size fool you... or, rather, scratch that! Chia seeds expand in your stomach helping to *trick* you into feeling fuller. If you're reducing calories for weight loss, this fullness hack will be more like a treat. You won't feel like you're missing out on anything.

HEART HEALTH ALLY

Chia seeds also contain Omega-3 fatty acids, the same good fats found in salmon. These healthy fats play a role in supporting heart health and maintaining  cholesterol levels. We *heart* chia seeds, don't you?

Chocolate Makes Everything Better

It's a debate on which ingredient is the star of this recipe show, but if it's a popularity contest, dark chocolate wins. For the Dark Chocolate Smoothie Bowl we use both dark cocoa powder and Salted Dark Chocolate Sinless Syrups. Cocoa is here for both taste and the benefits it brings to the literal table.

HEART HEALTH HERO

Dark chocolate has been linked to cardiovascular health. It's the flavanols, a type of antioxidant found in cocoa, that contribute to improved heart function. Because cocoa powder is unsweetened, we get the benefits without any of the risks. Plus, a little goes a long way with cocoa!

MOOD-BOOST MAGIC

Dark chocolate also contains serotonin precursors, which can positively impact mood and contribute to that feel-good vibe. There's a reason it puts a smile on our face... and not just because it tastes so good.

ANTIOXIDANT ARMY

Dark cocoa powder is loaded with antioxidants, which are like little warriors defending your cells against oxidative stress. Who knew shielding your body against free radicals could be so delicious?

My Milkshake Brings All The Pounds To The Yard

Once upon a time, there was a delicious smoothie joint. It was an absolute smash with the locals. On Summer days, the line would be out the door and around the corner. We had a friend that went there almost every day after the gym to order the same thing - a peanut butter smoothie.

The smoothie place touted their smoothie mix as homemade, nutritious, and low fat. (That should have been the tip-off, right?) The friend loved that the mix was yogurt based and the peanut butter added extra protein for her workout recovery.

And then, dear reader, the Calories Law went into effect.

The new menu with nutritional facts told no lies. This peanut butter smoothie was, in fact, a peanut butter milkshake.

Sometimes the truth hurts.

Sometimes a smoothie is really a milkshake.

Make a Better Smoothie Bowl

We knew we could find a way to recreate this magical peanut butter smoothie, but BETTER. Dark Chocolate plus peanut butter? That is a genius level move, if we do say so ourselves.

We use no sugar added peanut butter - obvi. Bananas are a great smoothie base because they blend so well and have so many nutritional benefits, like potassium. And last, but certainly not least, is the almond milk.

You can make this smoothie with any milk of your choice - it will still taste great. We chose almond milk because its low sugar will balance out the bananas and because we think almond milk is a great flavor partner for both chocolate and peanut butter.

If you'll notice, this is NOT a sweet treat so far. That's where the Salted Dark Chocolate Sugar Free Sinless Syrups come in. By adding the sweetness and a hint more dark chocolate flavor with our zero sugar, zero artificial sweetener, and zero sugar alcohol syrups, you can indulge without any guilties.

So, there you have it – a Dark Chocolate Smoothie Bowl recipe that's not just a treat for your taste buds, but also a celebration of good-for-you ingredients. Whether you're fueling up for the day, satisfying a sweet craving, or just indulging in a moment of self-care, this bowl has your back.

Sometimes, a little indulgence is just what the soul needs.
